NYS Ranks Highest in State's History on the 2010 Digital States Survey

Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart, NYS Chief Information Officer and Director of the Officer for Technology announced today New York State was recognized as the fifth most tech-savvy state government in the nation for its innovative and effective use of information technology to deliver government services, according to the Center for Digital Government's 2010 Digital States Survey. New York rose significantly from a national ranking of #18 in 2007 to #5 in 2010.

In its tenth year, the Digital Government Center's Digital States Survey is the first and only sustained assessment of state governments' use of information and communications technology. This year marks New York State's highest ranking in the prestigious survey and moves New York into the top ten. In addition, New York State was recognized for its leadership position ranking 3rd or 4th in five of eight survey categories.
