Blog Bounce Rate Blues?

Bounce Rate ::: the percentage of website visitors that leave the website directly from the page they enter without clicking through to any other page of the website.

What are YOUR strategies for reducing bounce rates? Do you think you are doing a good job on your website (as far as optimizing bounce rate is concerned)? Are you satisfied with your existing bounce rate?

Bloggers take note that it is not uncommon for a blog to have a bounce rate above 70%. Widget and service-heavy blogs as high as 95%! (Unless you're John Chow or Michelle Malkin or "Xiaxue" Wendy Cheng or "Instapundit" Glenn Reynolds...)

The "bounce rate" is said to improve one's Alexa standings, but has always been a hot-potato where entrecard is concerned.

Any of you entrecarders out there who have managed to get droppers to drop their dropping for a minute and read or click on something else or comment on your blog? I'd like to hear from you!

* Quantity of good comments
* Size of our subscriber base
* Amount of direct traffic
* Number of quality backlinks
* Google PageRank
